Analyzing Marketing Efforts

An absolutely timeless series of Star Wars reminded me of Yoda’s lines that are extremely relevant to Marketing profession. One scene shows that Luke was having a hard time with something related to The Force and he told Yoda he’d try again. Yoda snapped back and said, “Do or do not. There is no try”
Marketers have 100 available options available to connect with customers than they did 10 or 15 years ago. The Internet, social media, podcasts, webinars, blogging, etc. are offering bountiful options in which to proliferate and distribute positioning and messaging. The myriad of choices is daunting for small business marketers and the temptation to dabble in a new medium or technology is great.

But, there is the problem – the dabbling. If you don’t draw up a plan, dedicate resources, and design intended outcomes you risk missing the boat on the new direction’s potential. Instead, follow these steps and put the new effort on the right path:

Alignment with goals. Is this new effort going to support a direction the Marketing team or the overall company is going?

What’s the plan. What is the measurable result you hope to attain? An “A to Z” plan should be clear so you can get to a certain point in time and analyze whether the intended result was achieved.

Look for other people’s experience. Doing a simple research can build a  bunch of perspectives. Marketers can benefit from other companies experience. You may find a pitfall or better way of implementation that you haven’t consider.

Consider resource. What are the costs of implementation? If you are a small business you’re most likely looking at not applying your time to something else in order to implement new idea. Make sure you have a full scope of what resources are needed and what may get dropped.

How much will it cost? If your budget is tight – it better be. What hidden expenses are out there that you haven’t considered yet?

Mc Donald's Kiddie Crews' Last Hurrah

Summer has ended and kids are now back to school. But before they pack their bag with notebooks and crayons they headed to World Trade Center for Mc Donald's Kiddie Crews' last hurrah.

"The McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop is a 5-day summer program specially designed for kids to enjoy and have fun while learning through different activities. For each workshop day, Kiddie Crew members will get to experience the fun of greeting guests, manning the restaurant and drive-thru counters through on-floor trainings; showcase their skills through creative art workshops; and learn the importance of different values, from hardwork, discipline to teamwork, through values formation lessons and activities. More than the fun activities lined up, the workshop is also a great way for kids to meet and make a lot of new friends.

At the end of the workshop, a series of grand graduations will be held in major cities all over the country to recognize the achievements of all Kiddie Crew members and treat them to a day filled with exciting booths, games and a ton of prizes."

To end the summer event with a blast, McDonald’s treated all Kiddie Crew graduates  with fun-filled activities like games, raffle, and a lot of more exciting activities including Itrixx's Interactive Floor System. The kids can't contain their excitement seeing Mc Donald stuff interacting with their movements.

It's a must activity once summer starts. Give your child the best summer and experience all the fun only at McDonald's. See you again next summer.

Oxygen's FW After Party

Everybody was speechless and after they saw Oxygen's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection and The Misshapes  were there and gave the music a spin. After the fashion show everyone rushed to the afterparty held at KYSS Restaurant and Lounge Bar.

A snapshot from the fashion show held at SMX last May 13. Coverups, pants and dresses that will hit the store this July 2011. A must see!

To hype up the edgy neutralish theme of Oxygen for this year's collection they spiced it with techie platforms to present their brand. They used I Trixx Interactive LED Screens to welcome guests and imply that Oxygen is fiercely taking the road less traveled when it comes to fashion this 2011.

And it's cool to have Oxygen Mini Cooper parked right outside the venue. It was really a red carpet event.
